Not as down and certainly not out

Sorry about yesterday's downer. Not sure what got into me. Today brain's been better except for being exceptionally tired, falling asleep at every opportunity, and realising its limitations once again. That's the really hard part, trying to come to terms with the new me and coping with the sudden disappearance, last September, of the old me.

Up at 7.30am to let Pete from the builders in, and I was going to do so much today - ironing, filing, catching up on correspondence. Ended up picking beans, cooking dinner (very nice, I'm assured, and all home grown produce except for the gammon).
I really need to get into the garden properly very soon. More peas to plant, more lettuce and a general tidy up. We purchased a bay tree recently (see above) but it's now looking very sad and needs re-potting. I have the compost, have the new pot but seem to be lacking the inclination.

Pete was here to finish off bits and pieces in the barn and to update us on the plumbers (and that's a term I use loosely). He'll be back next week to finish off the finishing off and to update the update on the plumbers who are, seemingly, abdicating all responsibility. Have they not heard of a woman scorned or, in this case, women scorned.....they should be afraid, very afraid....

The puppies follow me everywhere and are total scamps. Fiona's pointed out that I've not published a name change - they're now called Morris and Holly. The name Katie was so close to Fiona's special Birman KT that it was too upsetting for her so Katie became HOLly (Hound of Love). We're back at the vets with them tomorrow for their final injections then they become proper grown up dogs. I need to start lead-training them as soon as possible.

Fifi Babitt's still v. poorly but the antibiotics seem to be doing their stuff. She at least managed to sit upright today, which is an improvement. Bless....she's looked after me so well for the last eleven months and I know I'm not doing her justice. Don't deserve her.
