They gave us six luggage labels so it stands to reason they meant us to take six suitcases, doesn't it? Yup, just finished packing at 0216 hours.....it's been a long and eventful day during which I got more than a little too much stressed. Not good for a subba. Fiona's been working all day (despite having booked it as holiday - she is so dedicated, that one) and didn't finish until 8.30pm hence the late hour. But first, matters Barn:
A Shirl's kitchen has arrived. Ours hasn't. A Shirl's banister is in. Ours isn't. A Shirl's newels are fitted. Ours aren't. A Shirl's glory hole has a door. Ours hasn't. Not that we're bovvered......we might have all that when we get back on dry land. The electricity board have turned on to the fact that we're looking for electricity and have set a date to power us up, April 23rd, but the gas board's pilot light must have gone out as they haven't been back in touch and the water board has seemingly trickled away; no news from them either.
Now I have to admit to being a little shortsighted. Not optically (I'm longsighted) but mentally. I've packed the digital card reader so am unable to download some world exclusive photos for this post. There's Fifi Babitt sporting a Phoebe-first-fur moustache - it's a dinky little number. Then there's Fifi Babitt sporting a two tone beard and 'tache of Boosh fur. And there's one of me wearing, most aptly, a sailor hat discovered in the bowels of dad's wardrobe so I've been wearing it for most of the day to get my sea legs working.
It looks like we might be able to post from the good ship Oceana so we can regale you with our antics in Ajaccio, matters from Monte Carlo, roaming around Rome, excitement in Elba, jumping around Gib. What are we getting up to in Pisa?
