It was the Babitt's Birthday yesterday; it was eventful. It all started off well, lots of presents to open, ably assisted by Delius who has a strange penchant for paper -
eating it, that is. Then it was off to the Chiropracter for a little birthday battering (ok so it was her birthday but in the long run......, oh what it is to be wise), a spot of retail therapy in town where we got birthday bargains galore - think 5 pairs of trousers for £15.00, from M & S no less and in our size!!! How good is that.
Home again and time for my afternoon sleep, which I still desperately need, then off for the surprise pottery session, a birthday present from the cats. But we didn't get there......one of the builders' skips jumped out behind the jeep, smashed to smithereens the rear window and dented the back door so badly that we can't open it. She who does the driving was not happy. AND it was in full view of the builders; the wolf whistles are still echoing around the barn.
Following a couple of frustrating calls to Mumbai I think the insurance claim is now sorted and we set off for a very convivial birthday meal with Dad, A Shirl, Hannah and Scott, hitherto to be known as Mr Smith as he started his new school job on Fifi's birthday.
