The trials and tribulations of the renovations of barn and brain in rural Cheshire.....

Tap dancing today, but fell off.....

Plumbing, heating, kitchens, bathrooms - had to talk about all of these today. This is the opportunity of a lifetime - renovating a barn, kitting it out from scratch and yet it is so hard for me to do. Timing can be soooo cruel. Barn v. brain and it seems that brain is winning at the moment. Paul and Danny, two lovely gentlemen from the plumbing company tried to make it easy for me but even their first, most simple, question had me stumped (I think it was something like, "how many bathrooms are we looking at?") and after that it was downhill all the way. Anyway, as ever, FifiBucks saved the day and got everything sorted with both Paul and Danny and with Heather from the kitchen shop. I had to have a sleep between the two meetings, couldn't even manage fruit pastilles, let alone lunch.

Outside the builders brought the roof down, with the old asbestos roofing sheets being disposed of. The new roof should be completed, weather permitting, within about five weeks.
