Shell Shocked!

Once upon a time I had two tortoises - Millie and Jezza. Fiona got me Millie for the Millennium and she lived with us in her vivarium in Poulton, Barn Court and here at the farm. Millie's with Phoebe in the lovely atmospheric photo that Hannah took. Jeremy Beadle got me Jezza for my birthday - he went to buy me flowers but got me a tortoise instead. Jezza's in the background of the picture that Hannah also took, accompanied by Phoebe (yet again - Hannah's the only photographer Phoebe'll work with) and the Big Brother Green Dog.

A few weeks ago, just before the subba I think, Millie was having a wander around the lounge and managed to escape through a two inch gap in the patio doors. She sped off across the lawn and we've not seen her since (tortoises are much faster than you think). She'll have dug in somewhere and'll hopefully re-emerge around April time. This is the first time she's ever hibernated so we're all keeping our fingers crossed for a Spring eruption.

And then, to add insult to injury, loss upon loss, yesterday we were up at Colin Container when, quelle catastrophe, look...........ever wondered what a tortoise looked like inside its shell???

BB's Green Dog's a little Jaded tonight.....
